power clean form

when doing power cleans do you think its best to always drop to squat position then back up, even with light weight to get used to doing that movement?
i have been doing them for about 4mth so still tweeking my tech as still not 100% imho

i believe with a healthy active lifestyle and some good knowledge and aas/peps use etc that you can live a longer stronger better life.

main interests: physique conditioning, bbj, muay thai.

Yes, as above, what you are talking about is a full clean.

I suggest if you want to learn how to properly powerclean, you find some olympic lifters to look over your lifts.

    They are two different exercises.

Power cleans are sufficent for most strength athletes.

The only people I know who do full cleans are/were olympic lifters.

It's good that you can do squat cleans, because they are highly technical and require great flexibility. I wish I could do them! If I were you I'd keep doing them, so you never lose that ability when/if you become bigger. Flexibility can decrease with muscular growth.

I'd still call that a "squat clean", just not a "full squat clean". In power cleans the legs only dip slightly.

a power clean in my book is too parrallel, anything lower is a squat.

I  squat clean arse to the floor.

if your technique is good squat down as low as it takes i have squat cleaned 30k more than a power clean you go figure from that

    bodyweight 70k lifts in comp snatch 132.5k cl+jk 160k
    78k lifts in training sn 145k cl+Jk 170
    front squat ATG 185k x1
