power snatches?

Currently doing 2x oly lifting sessions a week. One of them is mainly power cleans, was wondering if it was worth making the other power snatches? After serious explosive power here. what do you reckon?

Yeah definately give snatches ago, I love em. I find snatches much harder, they are definately more technical.

Depends what you are training for mate whether you should include them or not, probably best to put the Snatch into your Cleans workout! What lifts are in your second workout?

For real explosive Power they are excellent, as are hang cleans and hang snatches.

well atm im mainly doing cleans as they allow me to use more weight explosively. cleans and high pulls pretty much form one session. If I did snatches it would be power snatches and hang snatches probably, maybe some snatch DL at speed. training for improved sports performance. I was just concerned that snatching may be too technique based to bring any real benefit ahead of cleans.

If you're worried about the technique of a snatch check out this link

I used to do an oly workout each week and just alternate between snatches and cleans.

snatch is wide grip pull the weight over the head in one movement catch it and recover if you go into a full squat overhead stand up and recover

clean is shoulder width grip pull it and catch it on your clavicales and go in to a front squat if its a proper clean
