pre workout meal timing?

Basically i have 2 options when to have my pre workout meal - About 4 hours before or immediately before.

Which do you think would be best?

Personally I think this testicle tenderness is due to my recent return to AM cardio. I do it naked on a recumbent bike and my gonads tend to flop about.

    neither options is really good. Right before will result in being sick everywhere, getting cramps and feeling rough. 4hrs before will be too long, ideally about 30-90mins before is ideal.
