protein in the morning

how important is protein the morning after a workout? I know - stupid question, but I'm a stupid guy trying to understand!

I usually have

40g Oats in water
1 tsp udo's oil
1 medium boiled egg.

Would that be enough, or just the days after should I have whey? - I normally do 40-45mins fasted cardio as well.

Am cutting (read: losing weight rather than true cutting). Limiting calories now to 1600, but I plan to add egg whites or have 2 boiled eggs later on.

thanks

    Why 1600 calories? ? ?

How much do you weight? ? ?

1 medium boiled egg is not enough in my opinion.

How much are you having PWO? ? ?

I weigh around 8.5 stones. Remember, I'm the short guy - 5ft2. It's not long term, originally started at 1900 then slowly went down. Have gone down from 9.5 stones. Strength has either remained constant or gone up (i.e. Bench and Deadlifts).

pwo I have 40g whey, no carbs now. about 40-60minutes later have a mix of protein and carb meal.

1MR, I started about a year ago but this I started a while back:

    http://www.muscletalk.co.uk/m_1746087/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm#1746087

so around the beginning of April I started the above, with slight 'setbacks' on my birthday...my gfs birthday...my brother's birthday...

Toxic, I'm not really aiming for much, around 35% of total calories from protein - works out to be around 120g a day.

Just want to know if it's worth having extra protein the morning after a work out, or should I stay as-is until I decide to stop losing weight and focus on gaining mass?

    thanks

PWO would be a place to prioritise protein in my opinion.

Toxic, Gaz - thanks for your help. As of today I'm 8 stones 4lbs - I may get to 8 stones then try adding mass properly.

But will concentrate on getting pwo and ppwo nutrition sorted.

Why? Because its an integer!!? Don't worry yourself with numbers, look in the mirror. If you're not happy, fill your boots and lose weight. IMO, sack it off and build some muscle. And sort PWO/PPWO!!

actually I'm quite flabby - years of yo-yo dieting and no weights ensured that I've got a pretty flabby body.

Going by that advice, I'm definitely not happy with how it looks - too much jiggling!! If I could, I'd be tempted to get down to around 7 stones then bulk properly without having to worry about the flab.

it's really annoying, as I have a friend who is 5ft 3 and weighs 11 stones, no fat/flat! So I know that I could get up to around 10 stones, as long as it's muscle lol.

mate you will get flab by bulking anyway. How the hell are you going to cut without any metabolically active tissue? Do you seriously want to look like a holocaust victim?

Fair play. Are you sticking to a good eating regime? Not skipping meals or anything like that?

Have you read TT's article on Cutting vs Losing Weight? That might be a useful read for you. I'll try and find it now.....

thanks, you see what I mean? I'm very odd when it comes to height/weight!

Eating is clean enough - have been steadily losing ~1lb a week. Now do you think I should go down a bit more before I bulk?

thanks for the link, yeah I've read it before.
