question about food

For someone trying to build muscle from literally nothing at the moment, what are the best foods to eat and how long after working out should i eat?

any help would be much appreciated ..

    Get to the diet forum mate, but very quickly...

    It depends on your goals. Many guys here are bulking up (bodybuilding). We eat about 5000 calories per day over 7 meals, with even amounts of carbs and protein and just enough fat to suffice.

    The diet boys here will help you. Also MyProtein have some good sample diets. Also Maximuscle have decent sample diets on their literature.

    Ok cheers for both your help i will get on them forums ...

    and 7 meals?? wooo don't know if my stomach can hack that although i am desperate to bulk up!

    You can train your appetite. Food is crucial to bulking up. The weight training breaks the muscle, the food heals it (but bigger). Repeat. Take out either step and you don't grow.
