I'm not planning on competing but I think they all would!

Most competitors I imagine don't start bodybuilding with that in mind, apart from maybe Arnie

Thanks for the compliments. My training log is over at mickhart.com (sure I'm ok mentioning the site as Mick is a long time sponsor here) where I'm a mod. It's a pay site to post on but I'm pretty sure you can log on as a non member just to read posts. My training log was quite possibly the first training log on the internet and has been running consistantly for about 5 years before people copied me on Mick's site and then every other site also started training log sections! So there's a LOT of reading in it!!!

I'm sure you can read as a non member as people log on as 'guest'.
Try this link, should be straight to my training log:

    http://www.mickhart.com/members/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2

not dure if it works but worth a try. If not, I'll have a word with Sean the web guy and see if it's possible to set up a link to it. Let me know if the link works, cheers.

Other way round really drab. I started martial arts early then bodybuilding at 15 but used to stay fairly low weight as I would compete fighting. I still teach MMA but have now gone more into bodybuilding and started competing 2 yrs ago after making the decision to do it 5 years ago. Last time I faught I was 12 1/2 stone so I am nowhere near fighting fit after bulking but still enjoy teaching my classes with my brother and I utilise it for my cardio and to keep my suppleness. I had last year off competing due to knee surgery but have done 6 shows this last season. I won the WABBA Novice Mr Britain and got 7th in the NABBA World in Athens. I am hoping to do the WABBA again in October and qualify for the NABBA International Universe in Germany.

Trust me MM, I was really skinny when I first started training. It took me a lot longer than most to get where I am and will still take me longer than most to get where I am going but if you are dedicated enough, persistant in your goals, a master of time keeping/ preperation, prepared to live the complete bodybuilding lifestyle but most of all enjoy it and embrace it through enjoyment in the rest of your life then you will achieve your goals mate.

A quotable quote. This ought to be the dictum by which all of us approach our sport. Well said, Sherlock!
