queston needs answer please

if someone had qualified in UKBFF show and also qualified in a NABBA show, are they able to do both UKBFF and NABBA british finals?

i heard last year that the previous silly UKBFF ruling had been lifted to allow athletes from any federation to compete.

can anyone clear this up?

thanks

PARTICIPATING IN NON-UKBFF EVENTS -A competitor who holds a current National UKBFF title (i.e. Class Champion or Overall
Champion) or an International title, ranking or selection invitation or has an invitation for the UKBFF Finals, is expected to support the UKBFF
exclusively and may not participate in either ‘Open’ or other Federations Bodybuilding or Fitness events. A competitor or UKBFF official who
participates or officiates at an event, which has not been sanctioned by the UKBFF or IFBB will have his/her invitation, title or official standing
withdrawn. For official IFBB ruling on this, please check the IFBB website at www.ifbb.com .
-Any competitor who holds a UKBFF/IFBB title and is asked to Guest Pose/Judge or do any official job at any non-UKBFF/IFBB event must
seek clearance from the UKBFF Executive committee before accepting.

Does that mean if you qualify for the UKBFF finals, then do any other federation show in the meantime, you lose your qualification/invite?

This is quite like being in school.

Yep. The way round it really was to have done the Nabba and have qualified and then do their Brits in two weeks THEN go and qualify with the UKBFF

    Hi Kitty,

Thats what i try to advise competitors to do, the only problem then is if a competitor qualifies for the NABBA Universe by placing in the top 6 at the Britain in May, then goes on to qualify for the UKBFF finals, then the UKBFF would disqualify them if they did the Universe as the UKBFF British is after the Universe.

Think I'd rather do the Universe than another British qualifier, not a hard choice to make IMO

Only if they win the Brits and go on to place top 5/6 at the Europeans or Worlds...

And good luck to Helen Collins this week at the IFBB Europeans who is trying to do exactly that!

Balls to them. I'm doing a UKBFF intermediates qualifier (under 80kg this time to be peeled), then the NABBA UK, then the EPF UK, both of which are before the UKBFF finals.

Not that I'm saying I'll qualify for the finals but, if I do, and they want to ban me from the finals, big deal.

This sport has enough sh1t going on without office politics playing a part, too.

I'll compete in what I want to, thanks very much and if I earn a naughty boy award, then bollo**s to them.

They don't always stick to the rules they put down on paper either, I won the Nabba Britain then qualified for the UKBFF finals after asking and making sure this would be ok only to get a phone call two weeks from the finals saying I was banned. After a lengthy discussion and a few disagreements from being told various reasons i couldnt compete which werent true they finally said "Fine, we just don't want a NABBA Mr Britain winning our shows" and then hung up on me.

After this they had told other people who had done other shows they could compete etc and resulted in a whole load of bannings for people but they didnt tell half of them and that was the terrible year of 2005 where no one knew if they could compete or not and half the people who were going to compete ended up sitting out thinking they were banned and a load who thought they should have been baned did it anyway.
