do you mean 7 days rest between working the same muscle group? if thats your question, the answer is no and yes. some routine may require 7 days rest, other may require less or more.

buy a dip belt if your getting to many reps on dips and pull ups.

how do i know how much rest my routine requires, i do three days a week,
day1: bench press, pecrorial fly, shoulder press, lateral raises and tricep dips .
day 2: Seated rows, pull ups, standing db curls.
Day 3: squats and 1 other.
most are done with sets of three 6-8 reps.

    when you do legs

your probably wasnt two more exercise than one other.
i would do a ham based exercise and a quad one.

your the obly person who know if your doing to much. but if your improving, then do fix what is not broken.
    are you improving?

Dont go by what that guy is telling you. Go by how your muscles feel. If say after your chest still feels sore then you need to give it some more rest. If its not aching then you could probably hit it again.
