The amount varies somewhat from person to person, but the way accutane works is that enough of it has to build up in your system before having an effect on the subaceous glands in the skin. Imo, you might not have enough. The back & chest usually take 3-4 months to clear up when on a clinical dosage administered by a dermatologist.
I wouldn't do anything less than 40mg pd for 4 months at my present bodyweight, which is around 200-ish lbs.

    Hi fabry,
I was prescribed 20mg accutane ed for 3 months for quite bad cystic acne on my back. It was at its worst on my lower back as you have described. The sides were very tolerable at that dose and now 4 months later everything is clear so low doses can be very effective.

Its best used under a dermatologists supervision tbh so liver values can be monitored.
You need to avoid alcohol, vitamin A , liver toxic drugs and trying to concieve if you do run it.

A pharmacy never sells fakes, i wouldn't be so sure about that mate

My source is as legit as they come...........the NHS

Roche are sole manufacturers of Ro-Accutane and they make it in 5mg and 20mg softgel caps.

Roche manufactures 10mg, 20mg, and 40mg tabs here in the states. Its a soft-gel tab that has the liquid inside, so you can't cut the tablets. I know the 40mg tabs are yellow & the other two tab doses are white & red. I think the whites are 10mg & the reds are 20mg.
I've never seen the 5mg tabs or any other dosages, but I guess its possible that they do make them over there in the UK & other countries.

There's only one generic brand of Accutane that I've ever heard of. I think its called "Isotrentinoin" or Isotrentin. Imo, don't ever use the generic because from what I was told by my derm, their manufacturing process yields underdosed tablets.

Imo, if you're prone to acne, 20mg pd will hardly do anything for you on that cycle. I would even go so far as to say that it could make any potential acne even worse in certain areas of your body, most noteably on the back & chest.
Those of you who have used this under a derm's supervision know that the accutane causes the acne to get worse for a short amount of time before starting to make improvements. Now imagine what happens when you're not taking enough.
