Don't act like a tough guy. Most security supervisors are looking for guys that can handle themselves verbally, as well as physically, and can keep a cool head in any and all situations.

Yes I agree with that. but I think its also important to not act like a p*ssy. You need to find the balance

Though we don't have the experience of big venues like a large casino, me and AP currently bounce at the local St Christopher and John the Holy Baptist the 2nd Youth club for 11-15 year olds, due to a spiralling problem with the youngsters. We have found that on the front door, being friendly and calm is always a good start, and it also worth having someone to attend to the tuck shop at all times (which applied to the casino setting would mean certain areas need to be kept an eye on).

We have found that people were also trying to sneak in the back door fire escape so they didn't have to pay the admission, so me and AP cleverly devised a way of combating this whereby we hooked up a water pistol to a motion sensor which fired a mixture of vinegar, salt and e-45 cream, in order to fire at those who tried to break and enter. The plan was for them to get sprayed, and then come back round the front covered in the solution, where we would deal with them accordingly (phonecalls to parents and such like).

This plan, though good in theory, showed its inadeqaucies when the Reverend Pete Woodhams from the local parish coucil tried to get in to pick up a night's takings from the safe after closing hours, and we forgot to unhook our device trap, which resulted in the reverend getting sprayed with rather 'unholy' water.

The moral to our experiences is that "if your back door is bein penetrated, sometimes viscous solutions are not the answer"
