skiploading on keto style diet?

Ok, im totally new to the idea of skiploading.
So my question is, would it be suitable to use while on a keto style diet?
If so, how would I start off? What size of a loading window should I start with?
2/3hrs???
Any help would be very much appreciated

There are several systems or protocols that suggest going low carb for a period of time, and then having a carb up... I've used John Keifers carb nite which is one of those systems.

If you're low carbing already though, I suggest a carb up every so often to keep certain body processes in check.

Yes mate, I have a cheat meal every Friday night, generally a take away followed by tea and cake...
Tho I just wondered if the low fat hi GI skipload type refeed would be better?

You would have to try it really and see how you get on with it mate.

On carb nite, the window is about 6 to 8 hours really.

depends how strict you want to be with things, and how seriously you take it.  THE best results IMO from a keto plan will come from a planned, controlled carb load with very low fats done over a whole day.  calories matched to the usual days eating unless you are very low calorie, which you shouldnt really be on a keto diet unless its very short term because it will stall metabolism quicker than a very low calorie carb diet.

easiest way is one day a week, all the calories you would normally eat from fats you eat from carbs instead.

The man is back!

Good post Daz. With that method being used, I assume it's individual as to how much water weight and glycogen is stored post carb up, and of course, how much someone trains post carb feed to see how quickly the body returns to baseline on the scale?

Generally most of my clients seem to drop the water weight after a couple of days.  I use the weight gain as a marker generally to see how well they are using the carbs, when people are very lean and everything is working well it can be quite a small gain, very occasionally even a small loss.

I don't place huge reliance to baseline though as per a skipload, what matters to me is how the person feels, how training is going and that weight is moving in the right direction!
