sled dragging question

i have decided to use sled dragging as part of my gpp and event training for strongman.

what sort of weight should you be looking at using. i assume that it would be alot lighter for gpp than for strongman style. i have concocted my own sled from a large steel crate that i found. i estimate it weighs around 100lb

    That is really difficult to answer as it depends on the sledge, how it is made, what it runs on, friction etc and the ground surface over which you run it, I would just load it so that you do very hard 50m sprints or similar.

    Unsure on the differences for strongman events, however, was told by a sports trainer that sled pulls should be between 5 - 10% of 1RM squat.

    Just make sure that you are pulling the sled through all different aspects. Forwards, backwards, sideways, skipping, some limited bounding strides.

    The guys there dont recommend "sprints" btw
