someone bumped my car were do i stand insurance and no claims

What a month head split on one car got another and someones reversed into it and drove off
The front bumper has taken the impact and pushed the wings in a bit either side

Ive got fully comp and no claims but if i claim does this  mean, that i dont loose the no claims years ive built up,but my premium will go upon my next renewal, if i claim
Have i got that correct, ive never made a claim for damage before and want to be sure before i do something i cant go back on
cheers

check to see if you have any no claims protection?

The cost of paintwork is generaly £150 per panel,

so two wings and bumper probably about £400 ish.

if you have them protected go for it, if not then it all depends on how much no claims you have and what your insurance is now/ what car it is.

for me if it happend to me my no claims is worth more than my car is i pay just under 1000 with 40% no claims and my car is worth about 1000 so id get the bits from a scrappy and DIY

If you're protected, fine, claim - - but you still pay your excess - whatever that is.. - so weigh that up into the balance

plus,  you'll have to declare the claim when you re-insure

Sometimes its cheaper to just repair the damage than claim cos the claim itself could cost you more for your insurance when you renew next year.
