something good to cook for a girl??

Could do with some help on this please!!!

I need to cook something really really nice for someone but in the same breath its gotta be not to difficult to do. I'd say i'm an averagae cook, we'll it's always been me thats done the cooking. But never done anything "different/adventurous" food wise. Just want to make a BIG impression tho.

Ok, it can't have loads of cheese in it and it can't be really spicey. I've got usual stuff in my kitchen but no microwave at the mo cos it set on fire

I want the biggest bang for my buck as possible!!

Cheers guy's/gals

Chicken or steak with mix vegetables, maybe some nice italian bread with an olive oil dip or hows about a lasgane.

Make something that obviously takes time to prepare as she most probably wont just appreciate the taste of the food but also appreciate the effort youve gone through for her.

Of course, dessert will involve some ice cream, served on a plate of lumpo. lol

Something with chicken, and something with rice and you cant go wrong.

Chopped onion, pepper, mushroom, spring onion and maybe a small amount of garlic ?? use one of them sharwoods sauces, you cant c0ck one of them up surely ?

Oh forget wanting to cook anything good that involves a microwave - good job is knackered then

Most women like pasta. Use a pesto based sauce

My ex gf made me a dish that i thought tasted really nice and mustve taken ages but really its p*ss easy to make.

Green pesto pasta with cheese and chicken. Really tasty.

Just boil some macaroni and when its cooked de-starch it and drain it and leave it in an empty saucepan. Dice some chicken into small pieces and fry it in a pan with olive oil, add the diced cooked chicken to the pasta and dollop in a load of green pesto, mix it all up, add some grated cheese into it aswell, put the hob on v light heat under the saucepan so everything is kept warm and the cheese melts, when its done just sparingly pour some olive oil over it. Just make sure you mix everything up evenly so you dont get big lumps of cheese in one place...easy mate and tastes nice. Serve it with some sliced tomato and cucumber aswell.

Get a bottle of wine (or if your like me and dont drink then get some diet coke haha) stick the wine in a metal ice bucket on the table with a few candles scattered there aswell and obviously 2 wine glasses...there you have it, something that looks really flash but really takes p*ss all effort to make at all, 30 mins preperation time max.

Then for dessert just get out a tub of ben n jerrys ice cream and share it together whilst cuddling her on the sofa and watching a movie.

Don't make a huge feast mate, keep it on the light side... but if you can fit in three courses (bit of an effort, but worth it) go for something tiny and tasty for a starter, a small pasta dish for main, and with desert you can have a little fun... maybe slice of apple tart...

If this is beyond you, just get something premade for starter & desert... to Tescos!

Foods to avoid: Asparagus, excessively greasy food, large amounts of onions & garlic (tasty... but ultimately counter productive!), Fish.

We do not forgive. We do not forget.

    Chicken Stir Fry.

I never cook and I was a bit nervous about cooking a meal for my new missus. It was so easy. Sliced chicken, peppers, water-chesnuts, bean sprouts etc with a crushed black bean sauce (Amoy) and it was superb. Have it with rice and perhaps some garlic bread. You can buy packs of stir-fry veg ready to chuck straight into the wok. It was ready in 15 mins, tasted superb and went down a treat.

If its a firstish date dont do anything that you can get messy with as she wont enjoy it!

I have a serious addiction to Chicken burgers, Hot Chicken Salad etc but you cant really go wrong with pasta and lumpo I am sure she isnt expecting Gordon Ramsey - sometimes the more simple/fun it is the better

Well back in the day I would never cook on a first date. So I just ask what their favourite foods are on a previous date and then cook them that. That's the way to play it IMO

It's all very well asking internet strangers what to cook, but how are we to know what she likes and dislikes? Best off going straight to the source I reckon mate!

Actually I think food is massively overrated as a dating aid anyway. Use sparingly IMO

Completely agree with this BB - I had something similar cooked for me and it was gorgeous. Beautiful pasta dish, a lovely bottle of wine - chocolate and cuddling afterwards. The food was all simple but I knew that care and effort had been put in. And also the guy asked my opinion on the recipe beforehand to make sure it would be something I'd like, that goes a long way too. A gorgeous night

Not really a 1st date. known her since Feb but been really "getting on" in last couple of weeks. Just never cooked anything really nice for anyone so gonna give it a go, no big occasion. Recon it'll be along the lines of Britbbs recipe thing.

    Cheers!
