The pain in the wrist is bone? if so it's sharp pains. Tendon? sharp and lingering aching pains.

The pain in the fingers is when there is alot of stress put onto them (they are not use to the weight).

hmm.. i suppose i did stress it abit....

yes its a SHARP pain when i lift it on my fingers on BOTH hands and on my LEFT wrist. Its only with dumbells, barbells i have not problem with...

Would you say i should stop working out for a few days? or just use a lower weight of dumbells i was more comfortable with?

Mate, I had and sometimes still have this problem and I know how painful it is especially when you go the gym and know you will be in agony afterwards.
I posted something similar on the board a few months ago and the feedback was.
Get more Calcium, take Cod Liver Oil caps and swap any bar exercises to Dbells to allow a more free movement.
Still get the twinges but not half as bad.
