starting out

Hi I am new to jogging (started just yesterday) and I also went today. I go horseback riding 3 times a week and swimming one time a week.

I am a vegetarian (no meat no fish but cheese I do eat) For dinner I only eat a yogurt and a bannana. Breakfast I eat... I do not know how to say it in english....biscotti?? and for lunch I eat usually pasta or pizza.

Someone has any tips?
Or any way for me to improve my diet?
And any exersizes for my arms?[?][?][?] grazie francesca

P.S. I am really intrested on learining yoga does any one here has any exersizes that I can do?

What are your goals? do you want to get fitter, lose bodyfat, gain muscle? If you post your diet in the Diet Section, it'll get more replies. I wouldn't recommend doing just exercises for your arms, if you do a full body routine your arms will grow more. Something like Frankies routine would be good. To find out about yoga post in the General Section for more replies.

do u want to start doing weights...jogging is good, but its usually for cardio...tell us your goals and we can help you set up a routine...

your diet isn't very good either, do u eat eggs, milk as well? biscotti are cookies in english...not good to eat for breakfast
you should really get your protein up...and you need more food...to speed up your metabolism you should eat every 3-4 hours...this will essentially allow you to eat more and it will help you lose the weight...because you are vegetarian it might be a little harder to get protein, but we have members that are vegan and vegetarians as well, so they can help you...

you should include beans, chickpeas, soy, and eggs, milk, cottage cheese if you can...

what are your goals...and we could use your stats to help us...

i do pilates and i enjoy it alot...i have never tried yoga...but why do u want to do yoga, is it for flexability and overall fitness??

o, and if theres anything you dont no in english you can ask me to translate from italian...

I know my diet is terible I have so much goals I do not really know what I should do. I personally want more muscle my problem is that I do not have every day accsess to the gym. But I also want to jogg to help me out with health. Is there a type of exersizing that will help me out with both? I also have notice that the last two days that I have just started to jogg my legs are in much pain. today i want to go running but it is raining! CHE PALLE!!!

    ci vediamo

try and get to a gym 3x a week. If jogging is hurting then you may need to do power walking, cycling, swimming, etc.

Francesca, when you say your legs are in pain, do you mean sore or because you hurt yourself...if it is sore, then it will go away soon, the same thing will happen when you start lifting weights...this is called DOMS...it is delayed onset muscle soreness...as you keep training and it wont happen anymore

try to get protein to help in your recovery, for your muscles to repair...

like Cashman said, can you get access for 3 days at the gym
