either its a real crap cut, you have bought stewing steak or you have really over cooked it.

you can buy cheaper cuts then tenderise the meat with a mallet or marinade it overnight

    lol

even if you dont get a good cut of beef, you can still cook it to a degree where the meat itself has a really nice texture and feel when eaten.

Steak isn't chicken so it can be quite bloody, which will make it a lot easier to chew and swallow.

Just have it done no more than medium rare and it will be fine.

Try 'browning' it (just for the texture) for 1-2mins, then put it in the oven on a low heat. Wrapping meat in alumnium foil keeps it extra moist.

Don't cook it for too long.

    Fat keeps meat moist too.

All you need to do is get a non stick frying pan, clean and trim the steak of excess fat, place on one side for 4 mins the turn over to the other side for 4 mins (roughly, depends on cut of course!)

You will then have a beautiful medium steak.

P.S. the worst thing you can do is keep turning it over

Go to Argentina! You will not believe what the meat is like there I am very serious, it is as juicy as an orange and as soft as butter, no joke!

If you can't go, maybe try an Argentine restaurant.

That is true, you don't want to turn it all the time, it will lose the moisture and get dry I think.

Daverave, Have found the butchers to be cheaper than the supermarkets around here plus quality is much better.

Never freeze steak, just doesn't taste the same after imo!
