Hi...It is good that your doing at least 35-40 minutes of cardio 4-5 days a week...It is also good that you are incorporating your weight training...How is our diet??? Hopefully your doing alot of Protein and limiting your carbs...Most of your carb intake should be taken early in the day...Tuna, Egg Whites, Chicken, Fish are all good protein...You might want to add a Whey Protein powder...I, myself, have been taking 3 tblsp of Amino Fuel Liquid in the morning and a Whey Protein shake right after my workouts...Its been working for me...You might want to give it a try...Good Luck...

Thanx for replying so quick, my diet well its probably not good no to be honest its not good its healthy but probably not sufficant for what im doing, i dont have breakfast apart from a fresh juice of carrots, parsley and celery, and im straight to the gym, i love cardio and tend to not get the same buzz with doing weights, i then have a recovery drink and have another juice of apple, celery, carrot and ginger, i am wheat and dairy free, i do eat alot of fish but no meat. i have a bad habit of eating late, basically my diet is ****, i eat all at the wrong times, my boyfreind has protein, whey etc i have never tried it, i thought it was a boys thing, a bit nieve im afraid, ive just wanted to keep fit before. thanx for welcoming me on your board.

    Hi Maria and welcome!
I'm almost like you; 29 years old, 5-6 hours of cardio and weight training on and off for about 10-11 years.
I've always been hyper active but I still had problems with getting rid of the last fat and shaping the body exactly how I would.
Then I slowed down cardio and started to eat a LOT more proteins (I'm vegetarian).
Finally my body changed (and today I am where I want to be! )

To succeed you need to try a routine for at least 4-6 weeks:
-stop doing all that cardio but maybe 3 times 30 mins
-start lifting HEAVY compound exercises 3-4 sets of 8-12 reps and
-start eating 5-6 small meals a day with A LOT more proteins! (think about eating for your body and not your mind!!)

Good luck and tell us how it goes!!

Hi Maria, I'm similar to you in that i do a lot of cardio but it doesnt seem to make much difference. I dont carry a lot of body fat but the annoying thing is it never seems to change at all!

I think you need to surprise your body with different levels of intensity in the cardio. I'm about to start some treadmill HIT and see how that goes. Just in case you're not fam, iliar with the terminology, thats going all out for a minute, slow for a minute and repeat for as long as you can handle (about 5 minutes for me at first I expect!!)

Diet really is key. Food is something to build the body with, not just something that tastes nice!

Hi again, thanx for your advice gals!! philia2 yes i have always been hyper myself, cardio i thought always took the edge off i used to do alot of areobics aswell, i liked my body shape then, but i was just 18-19 or arround that. you and gymbabeliz are both right about not seeing much happening, thats exactly where i am (i think im a bit addicted to it) today was my 1st day of 30 mins cardio i did the HIT which you recommended for 10 mins and then the step machine for 20 mins using the same sytem but at a harder tensity level, my arse is acking!!
thanx for the advice with the weights aswell, i did legs after all this and abs, ill be honest i dont get the same buzz as i do with cardio, i did it though, 3 x 12 reps ill let you know how i go, i struggle with the achs the day after and worse day after that every move is AH! i do alot of running around with work.
    NO PAIN NO GAIN!!
hothead my man gives me plenty of advice, i just dont listen all the time and IM STUBBORN!! i like to do things my way, usually the hard way maybe ill listen a little more!! Maybe!!
thanx for welcoming me to MT.
