superskinnys conversion to mr big "before pics add

well thanks for viewing my journal its taken me a while to make one, ok i started off 2 months ago weighng a little over 10stone mostly due to stress and poor eating, i then took a change in the way i view my health , and done the following = gave up my 30 a day ciggie habit, with the help of patches, increased my meals from 1 a day to 4 a day = supplements and around 3-4 litres of water a day, so far i have added my before pics, there not very nice but im sure they will relax some skinny people here, :) i have some after 2 months pics to add which will hopefully be within the next few days, and for the first time in 8 years i was at the beach with my top off, its a great achievement for me, but here is my routine and stats

monday: benchpress, barbell curls, lat raise, crunches "now weigheted"
wednsday: military press, reverse barbell curls, close grip tri press, crunches
friday: squats,dumbell curls,pec flyes, crunches

all this was done 3-4 sets of 10 now they are done in sets of 8

weight before:10.5 stone now:11.7stone varies to 11.4stone though
biceps before:11.7inches now:12.9inches
waist before:33.5 inches now 33inches "aiming for 32"

im gonna do some more stats but i am VERY impressed with the results i never new , bodybuilding could be so fufilling, any advice on my routine would be great, and look out for my new pics , they will be a shock for you ;)

mate i got to say that is an aweful routine you are following there, where are the back exercises? you doing all upper body movements for the more"showy arms and chest" with no basic fundermentals, you should have based your routine round squats, deads, dips and then gone from there, if you want an alternative routine, just ask and you will get a few offers..
if you were to adjust your training i think you would get more growth over the whole of the body..

You've made newbie gains so far which happen regardless of routine structure.

70% of your total body musculature is the legs/glutes/back - building the legs/back is the key to gaining bodyweight, if you build those up then the rest will follow. That means, deadlifts, squats, chins, rows - everything else should be secondary to those, that means far less attention to chest/arms/shoulders - once you have got the legs/back in growth mode bodyweight will shoot up which means all bodyparts will increase in size.

well done mate on changing your lifestyle, once you get the bug, you wont wanna stop.

Diciple has given you some good advice, compound movements should be the building blocks of your whole routine, then you can add the rest, beleive me it will make a diference.

    Keep it up!!

You've made great progress mate, you can really see the gains and you look much better for it!

I'm starting out at around the same weight you did just not quite a skinny. How long have you been training altogether now?

Keep it up mate and well done!
