LOL at peanut butter. I have never tried it with that, might have to give it ago.

Syntha-6 is the best tasting protein shake known to man IMO, in terms of spec of the product Pro-Pep wins.

Both are very good quality products. The Syntha-6 does contain more carbs and cals per the amount ofprotein you get than Pro-Pep also but is so nice lol.

I am about to buy some BSN Syntha-6 as a change from the Peptide. I think I will alternate between them and Boditronics Midnight Express which is another great blend.

    John.

Syntha 6 is a poor mans alternative to pro-peptide. Syntha 6 is made with alpha and beta caseinates which are to be avoided. A lot of flashy marketing with nice flavours attempting to cover up some very cheap and nasty ingredients.....

blended with 10g peanut butter? lol

especially with 10grams of peanut butter! lol

Pro-Peptide is an expensive product, well kind of. CNPs Pro-Peptide to me is a pre-bed supplement and if you look at the price per serving and compare that to the price of the foods you'd usually eat before bedtime, then it does balance out. I used to eat steak before bedtime, but now my steak has increased in price by around 40% within the last month or two, it actually works out cheaper for me to use such products as CNPs Pro-Peptide instead, which mite actually be better.

You can shop around and get some good offers on the 5lb bags at the moment. 2x bags for £80 delivered aswell as one site selling a 5lb bag with a free box of CNP Flapjacks. Cant argue with those offers.

From what I understand micellar caseinates are denatured proteins that have been treated one way or another, the alpha and beta caseins are effectively fragments that make up parts of "micellar casein" but are not micellar casein in its entirety. The caseinates do not exibit the same properties of casein, and alpha and beta caseins/caseinates are only components of micellar casein that are not neccessarily going to exhibit the same properties of micellar casein. I believe some of the manufacturing processes used to produce caseinates can be quite harsh using high temperatures which result in some of the glycomacropeptides being destroyed/damaged as well.
Micellar casein as whole was what was shown to have the positive anti-catabolic properties in the studies by Boire (they are posted somewhere on here). There is nothing I can find to show any benefits to these caseinates so I would personally avoid them until information says otherwise. I do recall seeing a study which had a negative outcome in terms of caseinates. I'll see if I can find it and post it up.

In terms of just comparing pro-peptide and Syntha-6 just look at the order of the ingredients, the micellar element is about 5th in line in syntha-6 whereas in pro-peptide the milk protein is listed first....
