Re:test blockers for hair falling out?
That's the first time I've ever heard of chemical castration being advocated as a cure for male pattern baldness!
I'm pretty sure he would have been refering to a DHT blocking medication such as finestride or proscar (sp?), but ime it's rare to find a GP that understands these medications and how they work in any depth so may well have goten himself confused.
If it's any consolation, I've had success with both minoxidil and finestride in the past in helping to hold on to my hair when I started to lose it due to MPB. Not something I've continued however, especially now that I'm on high dose beta-blockers which have a tendency to make you shed hair at an unbelievable rate (handfuls of hair a day).
