top secret hotels on lastminute.com?

Anyone ever seen or used these?

It's where they advertise a 4* or 5* hotel on lastminute at a cheap rate, but the snag is they don't tell you which one it is until after you've paid.

I just booked one and am pleased with the hotel and price, I got it a little above half price.

It all seems a bit bizarre to me though.

I wish I was more attractive like Dagless.

I had one through work a couple of years ago, it turned out to be a very swanky Rocco Forte hotel.

I believe the reason that they dont advertise what hotel it actually is, is to not 'harm' the brand by being discounted so much on LMC.com.

If you're not that fusses about being in a definite hotel or location I think they're a good deal.

yeah it seemed a good deal, a 4* near cenral london for two nights for £120 is not bad at all imo

I'll probably use them again to be honest.

There's threads on moneysavingexpert where they tell you what the hotels are from the description they give you on lastminute before you book, but the one I went for wasn't on there.

It was probably the riskiest thing I have ever done lol.

We got the Waldorf Hilton on Priceline once as the 'secret' hotel.  About 70 a night which was good.

That guy from the money secrets program had quite a good tip. Copy and paste some of the blurb about the secret hotel into Google, and put " marks around either side of the text. If that doesn't work, drop the quotation marks and have a search.

You'll quite often get the hotel website, and thus its name, because lastminute.com just use the description of the website.

I have used it before twice, and both times I got a really decent hotel.

The second time though I used the moneysavingexpert tips and I found out which hotel it was.
