trying to find a report on steriods found in sups

Hi,
im looking for a report done in the US where a large sample of sports sups (that claimed to be normal sups) were tested and an alarming amount contained steroids, getting by on suppliment laws of not having to list ingredients.

Saw it posted a couple of months ago, now can't seem to find it!!!

if anyone has the link or the file, id really appreciate it if they could post it!

Cheers

a while back there was something about Reflex(UK company) products & the Olympics, don't have a link though to confirm that.

I think you should look for a site called supplements' Watchdog (think it's a US website) or somthing like that, again I'm not sure but it could be on this website - try to google it.

I'm sure someone on this board will help you or at least steer you in the right direction.

Out of interest thuogh why do you need this?

This is absolute rubish. The website in question is certainly not indepandant as they claim. Our products have been used by several athletes at the olympics and none of them have ever failed a test. We have products tested at one of 33 WADA accredited labs to make sure they are free from banned substances.

It was the washington post who paid for otc designer steroids to be tested. Surprise, surpise, they contained compounds similar to aas. Here are the articles:

So a pro-hormone is similar to roids - what a revelation that must have been.

Regarding the reports you are looking for. Try asking cheating athletes how they failed their tests and they go something like 'my supplements were spiked'. This then gives rise to the idea that supps are somehow contaminated. There have been tests on some supps which found nandrolone but that in and of itself proves very little. There's gear and nandrolone in beef.

it was kind of along the same lines as the washintonpost ones, but the impression i got when reading it was that the supps didn't give indication that they contained steriods, not like SD as pictured in one of those articles! more like something that appeared to be a natural test booster containing steriods

I want it as i told a freind about it in a discussion i was having with him and he was interested to read it
