twice a week?

twice a week?

would running twice a week, on a monday and friday, for around 25-40 minutes be a good amount to improve fitness over a 2 year period? as well as cycling teusday, thursday and sunday, and swimmimng or resting on saturday, and weight training every three days.
i tried running every other day, but i got shin splints, and my calf was hurting quite alot, would this be better?

    Build up gradually, if you start doing 6-7 times per week from the start then you are more likely to get shin splints.

    Start off with your 2 days per week and try and build that up to 4-5 times per week in the coming months.
