viseral fat

HI I am new here


I have just come back from the quack, she told me that the reason my belly seems big and my body is in decent shape is due to fat around my organs. I have been reading on the web and the common thing is weights, diet and cardio.

1)I currently do 10 minutes 4 times a week on the stationary bike when i wake up and have a protein shake. Should I do more and what is recommended. I have a bike at home so can do as much as I want.

2)I have cleaned up my diet and plan to post a journal, I was told to stay away from red meat. Is that true I have a steak once a week and Lamb chops once a week too. I also buy cook stew which can have lamb, beef or oxtail. Should I cut this all out.

This is my 5th week of training and my belly has gone down but im thinking I should change things up. I already do a three day split for weights.

I am 6ft2 16.4 stone and my waist is just under 40.5"

    Hello mate, and welcome to MT.

    Your first call would be to post your your basic diet in the diet forum so some of the experienced members can advise you to to take it further.
    Also post up your weights routine in the bodybuidling routines section for further advice and tweaking.
    I think you could increase the cardio in the mornings, maybe by a little each week until you reach 40mins-1hour.

    what do you mean belly seems big but your in decent shape???

    just wondering because my training buddy has a bigger waist than me but my fat looks flabby, i prefer his way of holding fat

    Hi there danja:

    You can certainly increase your cardio, TBH 10mins 4 times a week is of minimal benefit, pace yourself and fitness depending aim for half an hour daily if you can.

    Why were you told to avoid red meat? Can't imagine the odd bit a couple of times a week is going to be detrimental, not from a BF aspect anyway.
