The best advice I know of is ask around - ask your friends, family & collegues if they know of anyone or anyone who has used a service in your area, this way you not only get personally recommendations that the service is worth while but you also hear of cheaper deals. Even ask the barmaids in your local as they will know of bob down the road who does wedding cars etc - also the venue where you are holding the wedding will be able to recommend services from previous weddings and might be able to provide discounts.....

look look look and look some more. reputation stands for a lot, but dont pay over the odds for it.

a friend in work recently mentioned she was paying £3k for photos, i went online and found same package from just as good a photographer (who just wasnt known by the media and didnt have loads of celeb shots) for £1600. same photo book (imported from Oz), same processing style, same photo style.

personally i got married abroad (south Dom Rep) and would recommend doing this over getting married here! all depends on what you want.

Na you can get cheap packages over here you just have to look and except its not going to be the nads and be ruthless with who you invite and to what part!

My mate has just booked a really nice hotel for the wedding breakfast, service and evening do including the honeymoon room for 5,500! Bargain!

ours cost me no less than a wedding over here, so its not the cost reason that i was recommending it ;]

although, you could get married abroad and have the 2 weeks away, wedding package inc photos etc etc for about £6k in total, which is outstanding value!

Or on the other hand - just make sure you are marrying the right person

I hope so too, but to the ones getting married a little advice and want you to remember

If you give a woman a yard they will take a mile.

In other words remember to put your foot down now and again, I think my downfall was letting my wife do almost anything she wanted (obviously without taking the piss!) she was a kept woman for over 3 years and had a family holiday to America without me whilst I was at home looking after the too kids. I thought I was being kind but in hiensight I should have said no?

marrying the right person isnt the problem, sometimes later on in a relationship people change, life changes. even if you were the perfect couple when you married, doesnt mean you will be the perfect couple forever :/
