RE: welsh power lifting
My coach here in US is in masters 40-45 yrs (198lb)and post lifts like:
Squat - 550-600
Dead - 540-575
Bench - 350-400
Now he's been lifting for nearly 20 years. Some organizations have a novice division which would give you great benefits. Eligible if you never won a previous event, etc. If you feel your lifts are good, go for it! I had lots of doubts my first event and noone was even in my class...so I had no pressure to push myself.
