what is the best pre-workout product?

just wondering which one of the thousands of pre-workout products out there is the best as i would like to try one out

i tried nox-pump (tropical flavour) last year it had some effect but the taste was horrible so put me off this type of product

i understand a lot of people here would have different opinions on what works and what is pants but i would like to see what people think about these products

thanx

What if you don't need a huge buzz at the begining of a session?

Quake's the best pre-workout I've used although I rarely use them anymore. It doesn't seem to be that well known especially over here in the UK but I really enjoyed it. Scivation are releasing a new pre-workout to replace Quake which should be over here by late May sort of time I think... It's called Novem so I will probably get some of that when it comes out.

Are you looking for a 'pump' and or energy, or mental focus etc?

I find different ones I have used deliver in different areas.

Also powder or capsule preference too.

I tend to run 2-3 and rotate them each workout - whether this helps at all but I just like to keep it mixed up but workout at home and at a gym depending on circumstances and find keeping a hadfull of pre workout caps in small pot in my bag handy for gym sessions.

With regards to just 'waking you up' then jack3d and nox pump are two of the best. Personally I like to take a pre workout because I train first thing in the morning, don't like to train with a full stomach and theres no way I am waking up 2 hours earlier to eat to avoid pre workout products!

if I could afford everything, i'd have the following stuff pre-workout:

    15g eaas
    8g bcaa nitrates
    30g maltodextrin
    6g citrulline malate
    5g creatin AKG
    3g arginine akg
    1g agmatine sulfate
    5g beta alanin
    5g GPLC
    2g l-carnitin tartrate
    2g l-tyrosin
    1g gluconorolactone
    100mg caffeine
    3g HMB
    300mg l-norvalin
    100mg ecdysterone
    250mg trans resveratrol

I could throw in some insulinogenics, too, but I think it's a pretty good combo already

Not too sure about 30g worth of malto but if you ever get round to putting this out there I'd sure like to try it!

    Omega Sports Flashover.

I have used Jack3d, Presurge Unleashed, SP250, NOXplode, NOX Pump, Red Mist & Ultima and this beats them all hands down.

Non-prop blend and a very good company.

If I've had a long hard day, or its a morning training session then I go stim, like Jack3d.

BUT, because after my caffeine lay off, im now very stim sensitive, so if i train after work, i'll use a non-stim like Attack so i can sleep when i go to bed 2-3 hrs later.

You could reduce the cost by removing the 2 products that are certanly not pre-wo supps and then removing several others which will probably be pointless :)

I'm currently using Nutrex Hemo Rage Black & it's ok.

Not as good as I'd hoped & doesn't give me the same sort of buzz I used to get with BSN's NO Explode but it tastes a million times better.

I only use it at weekends because I train late during the week & it keeps me awake so definitely don't use it before bedtime.

I have picked up a tub of Jack3d to try next time though to see how I get on (again this will be weekend use only)

    Mine would consist of

    15g EAA's
    5g Beta Alanine
    5g Citrulline Malate
    5g CEE
    5g AEE
    500mg Chocamine Plus

Similar to MP's Pulse but with EAA's and citruline malate and a horrific tasting arginine ethyl ester.

Currently giving supermax pump ago which tastes gorgoeus, but feel I may need to up the dose from 1 scoops to 2, I used to feel a big difference with 1 scoop of superpump250 but not so much with this...

    Current PB's
    100kg Clean & Jerk
    110kg Bench
    190kg Deadlift
    140kg Back Squat
    120kg Front Squat
