what was your first computer?

What was the first ever computer your or your family had, what year and what was the spec?

My first was an Acorn a3010, it cost 500 quid in 1992 and had 1mb of ram.

A whole 64k of RAM baby! This was the first computer in the house. My own first computer was an Amiga 500. That bad boy had a 40MB hard drive. I couldn't imagine ever filling that up at the time.

First computer i worked on was an old green screen at school.

first pc was a PII 266 that was just massive size wise on a desk.

Turned to Macs after that with my first one being a PowerMac 5500/275 as i was studying graphic design at school.

LOL , the C64 is actually consigned to the garage ATM . stacked on to of an old iMac until I can find space for both of them to be "ornaments"  - I am sure they are becoming the best of friends !

I had the Toshiba MSX , TBH I wasn't overly impressed by it ,  although I think that is because I spent ages wanting it ,and then when I finally got one it was an anticlimax

I went through quite a few TBH ,  Quite surprising looking back because we were pretty hard up as a family while I was a kid  -  My parents bought me my Zx81 ,  but all the rest I had to buy / trade / steal (we were all young and stupid once , LOL )  myself

          So
          ZX81
          Vic 20
          Spectrum 48k
          Oric 16k
Ti994a  ( Worst of the lot !  - My mates Aquarius was worse though)
          Atari 2600 with "computer" attachment
          Intellivision
          Dragon 32

Ti994a  ( Worst of the lot !  - My mates Aquarius was worse though)
          Commodore 64
          Toshiba MSX
Amstrad CPC6128 (briefly - Lad I swapped it with's mum came around ranting and raving ! )
          Atari 1040 stE

I had an atari 800 xl, i pulled it out to show the young uns recently and their jaw hit the floor when the realised you had to use tapes and it took 15 minutes to load a game

I had a CPC 464 with about a million tapes. My dad clearly got a dodgy box load of games from someone. I'd spend an hour waiting for an unknown game to load for it to be utter sh*te! Now and then I would come accross a gem, hunchback and chuckie egg were the nuts when I found them!

It was an Amstrad of some sort, it basically sat there collecting dust as no one had a clue how to use it.
