whey protein, which is better

hi guys need some help. okay back into traiining aftere a year out. when i used to buy whey protein i used tyo buy branded sfuff like EAS, maxismuscle etc. but these days moneys tighter and they dont last longer.

i guess my question is does it matter, which brand of whey protein i use. i know some brands have added stuff but i just need protein. im looking at good deals that suit my money but, not sure if quality will impact my results

If you just need protein, then get just protein. Cheap and nice and in bulk.

The only difference i've found is taste.

I go with a 1/3rd flavoured and 2/3rd's unflavoured bulk, nice in water or milk and still works out quite cheap.

depends, holland and barret branded certainly doesnt taste or live up to maximuscle / eas etc

    and its cheap as chips

go for Bulk, and if u want that bit extra, even go for the bulk guys branded version i.e MP Max

the only difference i notice besides taste is diegestability, i used both bulk unflavoured and ON 100% whey which contains aminogen (digestive enzymes) which i find less irritable on the tummy, less visits to the toilet

In my opinion any negligible differences are easily outweighed by the cost difference.

agreed. only ever buy branded protein if i really fancy something tasty now and again, or if its on offer like the 4.5kg Pro-Mass i just bought of ebay for £26 and free delivery

other than that, mostly bulk supplements all the way, tho certain things are just as cheap from top brand companies. You just have to shop around and weigh things up.

nope, 4.5kg of strawberry flavoured Pro-Mass. There was 15 in a clearence sale from **** or something, all on auction. Some went for about £30, others as low as £21. All 3 flavours too + free P&P. I thought it would be out of date or close to becoming, but its exp is 2008.

    Paid £26

lets say for example, that branded whey is better than unflavoured bulk. by what percentage would you say it is better? Lets go with 20%.

5lb of branded whey costs about £30
    5.5lb of unflavoured costs £16

thats pretty much half price. Do you think the branded whey is 100% better than unflavoured (twice as good?)

the answer is NO. Therefore regardless of how you think about it. Unflavoured whey delivers the most 'bang for your buck'

P.S-i have not noticed a difference at all between branded and unbranded
