which mobile network?

Hi all,

I'm thinking of moving from Orange, the signal seems to be getting worse in my area & I have to go upstairs to make a call or wear a bluetooth headset & put my phone on a window sill.

I've tried the network maps but they all seem to say the same no matter what network i look at, my mom has no issues with vodafone, gets signal everywhere.

I'm tempted by an iPhone and Three have a good deal on it at the moment, are they any good as a network?

Best deal on tarriffs is and has been for a while tesco mobile phones. If you already have a phone excellent monthly package and no contract on sim only just a rolling month

Maybe your phone is a bit dodgey, orange and t-mobile now have the best signal coverage in the uk as they have joined forces on there network

They say that, but whenever my phone picks up T-Mobile instead of Orange I may as well still have no signal.

I'm gradually getting more and more fed up with Orange, but i've been with them for so long now I wouldn't want to change and get something worse!

I was on vodafone for ten years and then switched to Orange, in hindsight I realise vodafone were the muts nuts.

    Three are rubbish
    02 are so so
    Orange are crap
    T-mobile are half reasonable
all of the above work if you move around the house and/or hang out of the window, depending  on where you live they may or may not work
vodafone are the top banana and seems to work any where even in the middle of nowhere
best signal i ever had was with my brother we had a coke can each joined together with a bit of string

The thing that anoyed me with orange is that if your making a phone call which uses 2g or whatever its called, if the phone can't pick up 3g then your call cuts out. It doesnt even need 3g for the call, you end up having to turn 3g off in the settings. Its lame imo

I'm on T-mobile, I haven't had that many problems at all, on the rare occasion the signal drops, the Orange signal is picked up, and more often than not, it's full bars.

    Regards,

Have you registered for the network sharing option with t-mobile?  May improve your service a bit!

@Play - my phone is brand new so no issues there - must have a lead lined house
i was looking at three because of a cheaper way of getting an iphone but i might just bounce to vodafone.

@ Robfrancisuk - i have looked at giffgaff (o2 network) but don't want this lousy Nokia E5 & certainly don't wanna pay for a phone to run pay as you go on it

@ Chilled DJ - my phone rarely uses the t-mobile signal and when it does the signal is still poor

time to move on i think & hit vodafone

I have contracts with all of them except Orange at the moment. TBH I am quite impressed with the performance of the Three network lately , even without 2G fallback (which they no longer have !) I seem to get good really good coverage  - quality of the network is excellent and data speeds are the best IME.
CS , on the other hand is still apparantly awful , but fortunately I have not had to use them yet.
A few years back the CS would have been a deal breaker , but realistically I have found Vodafone's CS to be equally as bad , if not worse ! ...and my last experience of Orange was similar.
The thing is , it doesn't matter what anyone else's experience is , you need to find out how the various networks perform in YOUR areas ,  not anyone elses !

No, Not that Dr Z.  Please don't bother PM'ing me for 'Price Lists'  You have the wrong guy.

Vodaphone had no problems with them at all.
