working abs

is it ok to work the abs every day with 30 crunches, and 30 sit ups? if yes, would it be better to do them in the morning or before bed?

i can't really see the point. they are just the same as any other muscle you have. treat them as equal

    start - 8 stone 7 lbs
    current - 10 stone 1 lb

A single set of each exercise per day? yes. Personally I do 200 situps 3 times a week. Some do them weighted with less reps. Crunches are a "vanity exercise" in my book.

what is difference between crunches and sit ups?

also if you need to train abs, you can do sit ups whilst holding dumbells (whichever weight you think ur comfortable with)

    Ditto

You'll only get the definition with diet, no matter how many sit ups/ crunches / leg raises you do.
