"Fairest ref in WSM" my arse.

Mind you if Ross wasn't such a fat C**t and didn't need a hook to wipe his arse you might be able to tell if he had locked out his arms or not

    C'mon guys.
    He deserrves some repect.
He is doing well even to just compete on a world stage.
I would have gave him that, he was more steady than on of the other guys they commented on.

I dont think he locked out - and to be honest I think his other presses were "iffy" as well.

I'll say this for "The Daddy" though - he totally owned the squat. I recon he could have got maybe 1-2 more barrels if they were there for him to lift.

I've heard rumours that that train pull event was a bit dodgy. Apparently they put the break on every so often to make it more difficult and some people got more "break" than others... Not sure how true that is though. [?]

I think the train pull was fair. Glen's technique was terrible, hindered by his great bulk. That's why he did poorly IMO.

As for the log lift, I think it was hard to tell to be honest. He has very fat arms which can make it difficult to see if they are fully locked out. I think he was certainly very close to lockout..... Maybe as close as some of the guys who were awarded a legal lift.

Glen needs to lose fat if he wants to be a great strongman. The strongman world is not going to revolve around him (static lifts only). The big guy's holding himself back IMHO.

As far as strongman goes he is statically very strong if he wants to compete itn static only events he will get beaten by the top powerlifters. He needs to lose weight, a lot of weight!

I think he would do exceptionally well at powerlifting. I heard numbers something like 400kg squat, 400kg dead, and 295kg dead all raw. Throw in some good equipment and you're looking at a massive total. I wold love to see Glenn in powerlifting. $10,000 for a first place at the WPO finals - could be Glenns!

i think all of glens viking presses were not very good. he claims to be the strongest overhead presser, in uk maybe but he cannot hold a torch to hugo and sven when they are at there peak.

ross is just to heavy to be an effective all round strongman competitor. yes he owned the squat in that group but so did bergmanis and zyvekis(sp) who are also both former lifters.
i just dont think glenn will ever be a serious contender for wsm

Compared to some of the other lifts which have been called a lockout, I would say his was ok.

Train pull and farmers walk were very poor!

    Maybe he could get liposuction?

Also, zydrunas zavickas looked significantly stronger in the squat than glenn imo

as the likes of Andy Bolton at 145kg (45kg lighter than Ross) is lifting 487kg Squat 285kg Bench 425kg Deadlift in comp he is not even the best static lifter in Britain. Not denying he is not a strong strong man but the best?..don't think so

In comparison to the other 'legal' lifts it looked ok, but as said above he's so fcuking fat it's impossible to tell if his arms are locked.

    TUFF

Btw, hugo looks awesome this year

I think the fat he's holding on his arm gave the illusion that his arms were still moving - definately locked out IMO

i admire the man for what he has achived above and beyond what normal people, myself and indeed some PL/strongmen will ever achive in terms of absolute strength. but i am afraid i'm of the opinion that there is no point in being strong if you have got to use galleon sails as underwear. which, as markus pzhddjkjkhdbdouski clearly demonstrates, you don't. i would rather be a constantly underestimated lightweight [which i am], than a so fat that you cannot tell weather his arms are straight or not and very very strong staticly. J5, you have said on more than one occasion that you limit your weight to 220lbs [i think] for reasons of fnctionality, and your still very strong. thats better imo than being 900lb or whatever he is and stronger still, but disproportionately so.
