    milk contains casein
slow releasing protein to feed my muscles as  i sleep
to avoid being anti catabolic as ur body will eat its own muscle otherwise
most diets and 99% of people would reccomend taking casein before sleep for this reason

I understand that but it's pretty illogical, but why not take a specific Micellar Casein product before bed...

By drinking milk all your doing is effectively taking unwanted fats onboard with the minimal micellar casein in the milk...   Even adding Olive or walnut oil to your protein would be better than drinking Milk...

Midnight Express or Reflex Micellar casein are good examples...

This way you wouldn't conteract your ZMA requirements...

How about taking your ZMA on an empty stomach at bed time as directed, then setting your alarm for an hour or so after (If your asleep by then).. Just neck your food/shake then catch some more ZZZZZZZ!

Once the ZMA has been absorbed you would be ok to eat again.

    Well, yes, that would work...

However, IMO you're not doing yourself any favours by taking milk at all...   Boditronics Express Whey contains Isolate, Concentrate AND Casein, meaning you'd have all bases covered, all the time!

But to clarify, if you want to continue with Milk, an hour and a half should be ample time for your body to break down the ZMA and absorb it efficiently, but you must take it on an empty stomach for this to be a realistic system!

Setting your alarm for an hour after you sleep is not the best idea, most trainers/BBs value a full night's uninterrupted sleep above forcing nutirents down your neck. Your body's designed not to digest food at this time.

The Express whey is a mixed blend, hence won't take so long to be absobred.

The reaso you can't take ZMA with milk is because calcium uses the same pathway as zinc. So anything you have at the same time - avoid calcium. Your bodytronics probably has calcium in....

My advice, ditch ZMA. Eat cottage cheese before bed.

Simply take your ZMA 1/2 an hour to an hour before you take your milk mate.  Gives the ZMA time to absorb into your system.

Sorry but this makes no sense...

"Setting your alarm for an hour after you sleep is not the best idea; most trainers/BBs value a full night's uninterrupted sleep above forcing nutrients down your neck. Your body's designed not to digest food at this time."

So, if your body is not designed to digest food at this time why advise...

"My advice, ditch ZMA. Eat cottage cheese before bed."

As Cottage Cheese and micellar casein "Digests Slowly" (meaning your body will be digesting it longer) this will be in your stomach digesting when you are saying your body is not designed to do so????

ZMA is a great product - I would use it not ditch it.

Express Whey is ALWAYS going to be a better suggestion than milk; and that was the reason for the suggestion..  Only the isolate will b absorbed quickly!  The Micellar Casein in the blend will absorb slowly, ergo the best suggestion is a specific Micellar Casein product:  Reflex Micellar Casein or Midnight Express by Boditronics...

Don't bin the ZMA either, just mould your eating and supplement consumption around it...

Like a few others have said, have the ZMA around 90mins before bed, then casein 30mins before - I recently had the same problem, doing this seems to work - you will notice the difference! Only problem is if you put too much water in your casein you can end up having a toilet visit half an hour after going to bed!

just take the ZMA ca 90 mins after your last meal. Then wait ca. 30mins and take your casein product of choice before going to bed. That's my protocol and it works. (You know it's working by the dreams you get)
